Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Sivarao Subramonian is Professor of Innovation and Engineering Design at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka and a Malaysia Best Innovator, an award presented by the Prime Minister. Over more than 35 years he has built a record of 20+ patents granted, filed and transferred and 40+ innovation awards, and was the founding director of UTeM’s Technology Transfer Office. He created the Sprint Method.
Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Sivarao Subramonian is Professor of Innovation and Engineering Design at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). An engineer and inventor, he received the Malaysia Best Innovator Award, presented by the Prime Minister. Over more than 35 years he has built a record of 20+ patents granted, filed and transferred and 40+ national and international innovation awards, and has led and contributed to research and innovation programmes worth more than MYR 20 million, including a World Bank-funded programme that built technology transfer capacity in more than 10 universities in Bangladesh. He was the founding director of UTeM’s Technology Transfer Office, evaluates research and commercialisation funding for MOSTI and the Ministry of Higher Education, and has completed 50+ consultancy engagements for ministries, agencies and industry. He created the Sprint Method: Innovation Sprint, Commercial Sprint and Pitch Sprint. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a Chartered Engineer (UK), a Professional Engineer and a Registered Technology Transfer Professional.
